Marcus Lenczyk • July 7, 2024

Introduction

We are excited to share the results of a recent Proof of Concept (POC) implementation conducted with one of our valued clients. This POC was executed across 59 Windows end devices distributed throughout all departments of the client's organization, which has over 1,600 employees. The goal was to evaluate the efficiency and cost savings of their IT support processes, focusing on 1st and 2nd Level support. Notably, this POC was active for only 5 days, and the impressive results were gathered within the first 2 days.

Key Findings

The POC revealed significant insights and benefits, which are summarized below:

  • Total Problems Detected: 2,362
  • Solved: 411
  • Pending: 1,951 (waiting for restart, we don´t force that!)
  • Unsolved: 2
  • Time Saved: 292 hours and 85 minutes of human effort
  • Active PCs: 59
  • Net Savings: €21,876 for 1st and 2nd Level support

Device-Specific Performance

Here are some highlights of the time and money saved per device (anonymized for privacy):

  • Device 1: 31 hours and 65 minutes saved, €2,385
  • Device 2: 32 hours and 55 minutes saved, €2,454
  • Device 3: 20 hours and 80 minutes saved, €1,579
  • Device 4: 20 hours and 105 minutes saved, €1,619
  • Device 5: 20 hours and 40 minutes saved, €1,535

Projected Impact on the Entire Organization

Given the success of the POC, we can project the following impacts if the solution is scaled across the entire organization:

  • Increased Efficiency: With 292 hours and 85 minutes saved on just 59 devices, scaling this across all devices could result in substantial time savings, allowing the client's IT team to focus on more strategic tasks.
  • Cost Savings: At a rate of €15 per device per month, the projected ROI for 1,600 devices would be significant. Here’s a quick calculation:

Monthly Savings=1,600 devices×€15 per device=€24,000

  • Annual ROI and TCO: Assuming the same rate of savings, the annual savings would be:

Annual Savings=€24,000×12=€288,000

Given the initial investment, the time to recoup the costs would be:

  • Improved Problem Resolution: With a structured approach to problem detection and resolution, we can expect a higher rate of problem-solving efficiency, reducing downtime and improving overall productivity.

Conclusion

The POC has demonstrated the potential for significant improvements in our client's IT support processes, both in terms of efficiency and cost savings. By extending this solution across the entire organization, they can achieve a higher ROI and ensure that their IT resources are utilized more effectively. We look forward to supporting our client in implementing these findings and continuing to enhance their IT infrastructure to better support their business objectives.Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss these findings in more detail.
